Legal Counsel
(Location : Kl / Pj / Tpm Cyberjaya )
Description
|
•
|
Draft,
review, negotiate IT contracts with customers/vendors/partners, financial
agreements, various other types of agreements (training, distributorship,
supply, alliance/partner, purchase, building facilities, tenancies,
leases, employment agreements), draft contract templates, respond to
tenders, manage litigious issues, ensure intellectual property rights
protection,

|
•
|
Provide
business oriented solutions and advice to the management, different lines
of services and business units, and companies within the Asia group to
facilitate the company’s goals and business objectives.
|
|
•
|
Advise
management of legal implications and different possible courses of action
in corporate exercises and other matters
|
|
•
|
Conduct
oversight of external counsel and coordinate, liaise with and supervise
external lawyers appointed by the company
|
|
•
|
Create
and streamline corporate policies on legal procedures and contract
management within the Asia Group and assist in ensuring that the company
has an effective compliance program in place.
|
|
•
|
Maintain
and update file system for legal documents, and centralized contracts
repository
Conduct in-house training as required
|
|
•
|
Conduct
research into legal and regulatory issues and be on the alert for changes
in law relevant to the company’s operations.
|
|
•
|
Other
duties as and when assigned by the Head of Legal
|
Qualifications
|
•
|
LLB
degree with 2 – 8 years’ post qualification experience (preferably both,
legal practice and in-house experience). Experience in a specialist
technology legal role with good knowledge of the law and practice in the
IT area is advantageous
|
|
•
|
Excellent
communication skills, written and verbal (English and Bahasa Malaysia)
|
|
•
|
Proactive
independent worker, able to work well in a team-orientated culture
encompassing different professional functions within the corporate
environment. Able to build rapport with and relate to a wide range of
people.
|
|
•
|
Strong
presentation, interpersonal, analytical and time-management skills
|
