Pre Sales Consultant - Communication Services
(Location : Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral )

Responsibilities:


The Pre-Sales Consultant is part of the Pre-Sales team, supporting and assisting the Sales team to drive revenues and margins by helping to qualify accounts and opportunities, answer RFP/RFI/RFQ’s, preparing and delivering solution-based product and services presentations, and delivering proof-of-concepts which meet customer business requirements.

The Pre-Sales Consultant is part of the Communications Services Portfolio which specializes in networking and communications technologies – these include products and technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel and Nokia. The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for working with these products and is responsible for handling any technical questions or issues which arises during a sales cycle and setting appropriate customer expectations. The Pre-Sales Consultant may from time to time also be required to work with the Communications Services Delivery team to resolve customer issues and to handover the account or opportunity to ensure deliverables for implementation.

Requirements:

The Pre-Sales Consultant is expected to have a BSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering and 5 or more years of related technical experience. In addition, the candidate should have 2 or more years of field presales experience or the equivalent combination of consulting, technical, and related customer-facing activities.

Some of the key required technical skills and abilities include a working knowledge of:
Cisco Core Switching and Routing
Cisco IP Telephony
Cisco Unified Communications
IP Convergence

Ideally, the candidate would be certified on the following:
CCVP (Cisco Certified Voice Professional)
CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional)
CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional)

Some other technical expertise would be useful for the job role as well, such as:
Development skills in Microsoft .NET and/or J2EE environments

Technical:
Able to describe and present Cisco products and how they interact with 3rd party technologies
Able to architect Cisco-based network architectures for customers
Has the ability to handle most customer meetings without the assistance of other staff
Can participate in deep technical meetings with customers
Has the ability to assess a customer’s business problem and recommend appropriate solutions
When complex problems requiring out-of-the-box thinking arise, can document a solution and articulate the business value to a customer
Continuously updating technical knowledge and learning new products and features

Pre-Sales
:
Must be resourceful, self-motivated, customer-focused and able to work in a team
Possess good presentation skills in English
Possess good communication/writing skills in English
Able to help qualifying a sales opportunity
Able to talk with different audiences, appropriately adjust technical content to meet different audience knowledge and interest, and can juggle meetings with multiple audience levels
Able to handle customer queries and objections by determining the real business problem, articulating ability to solve their problems, and finding creative solutions rather than answering “no”
Proactively engages in the sales cycle

Interpersonal:
The ability to persuade or influence others to accept a point of view, to adopt a specific agenda or to take a course of action
Highly valued interpersonal skills include the ability to be rational, objective and unbiased when making decisions or taking action
